SafeCom offers an enterprise-wide solution with multi-server support and is ideal in environments where users are required to pay for printing and copying. SafeCom has proved to be popular in both the corporate world and the educational establishments.
SafeCom Go, developed specifically for HP LaserJets, offers a truly integrated solution for HP MFPs, utilizing the MFPs touch-screen control panel.
With SafeCom installed on a Windows server users print to this shared device, like any network printer. Users can walk to any of the printers with SafeCom Go installed identify themselves and collect their documents (Pull Print). On MFPs, users identify themselves the same way to access copy, scan, fax and e-mail functionality. The users e-mail address is pre-filled making sending e-mails easier than ever.
Users can be identified by card and/or code. For newer HP LaserJets the card reader is simply connected to the printers USB port. Magnetic cards are supported and so are popular proximity cards, such as, EM41xx, HID, HITAG, Legic and Mifare.
SafeCom can track data about print, copy, scan, fax and e-mail jobs as well as documents printed using traditional Push printing. The tracked data includes owner, number of pages, paper size, and possible use of color and duplex. The tracking data can be used to invoice users and departments.
